The Musicians Benevolent Fund is joining forces with Awards for Young Musicians (AYM) to support talented young musicians in financial need.
Our new partnership will enable AYM to offer special Musicians Benevolent Fund Scholarships to young people aged between 14-18 who are thriving against the odds to achieve exceptional musical standards.
Since 1998, AYM has run an annual Awards programme for young people aged between 5 and 18. Grants can support all the major costs of a young musician’s training, such as lessons, buying an instrument, travel and specialist courses.
This year the scheme is open for applications until Friday 23 March 2012. There is no separate application process for the Musicians Benevolent Fund Scholarships and the awards will be made by AYM’s expert adjudicators.
£10,000 is available for these scholarships in 2012, in addition to AYM’s own awards.
The Fund is looking forward to working closely with AYM to ensure that the young people are given appropriate support and opportunities to achieve their musical potential.
