  Sir Peter Maxwell Davies is made President

  Master of the Queen’s music, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies has been made President of the Musicians Benevolent Fund. Maxwell Davies is the second ever President in the Fund’s 89 year history, following in the footsteps of another Master of the Queen’s Music, Sir Edward Elgar.

One deserving student will be awarded a fully funded place on the ICMP’s part-time Foundation Degree in Creative Musicianship starting September 2010.

  Anna Patalong receives vocal awards

  Anna Patalong, of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, has received this year's Maggie Teyte Prize of £2000 together with a recital at the Royal Opera House and a Miriam Licette Scholarship of £1500 for advanced study.

  Glowing reviews for young cellist Michael Petrov

  19 year old Michael Petrov, recipient of the pretigious Guilhermina Suggia Gift performed to a sold-out Oxford Town Hall on Saturday 6 February. He had big shoes to fill in the form of Natalie Clein who could no longer perform in the concert and he did not disappoint.
