Living Room in London

Living Room in London, recent recipients of an Ensembles and Groups Award, will launch their brand new CD at Kings Place on Monday 23 January, as part of their European Tour.

Living Room In London is the only quintet of its kind, consisting of Björk's percussionist Manu Delago (hang), the Austrian jazz newcomer of the year Christoph Pepe Auer (bass clarinet and saxophone) and a dynamic string trio with musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra and the Solstice Quartet - Ellie Fagg (violin), Tom Norris (violin, voice, guitar) and Gregor Ridell (cello).

Recently they received an Ensembles and Groups Award which contributed towards the costs of recording their debut album with SessionWork Records.

Speaking about the album and the significance of the award, Gregor says: 'The album consists of our own compositions and a commission from a young composer David Ibbett. We will launch the album at our Kings Place debut on 23 January where we also premiere new substantial works by Milton Mermikides and Peter Wiegold. The support from the Fund has given us the opportunity to present a product that we feel represents our current musical ideas. We will continue to commission new works and develop our own works for the ensemble so that we have a broad and flexible range of repertoire to perform and record for the future. Our debut recording is a substantial milestone for us and we are extremely grateful to the Fund for the support we have received.'

Book your tickets for Kings Place and take a look at the events calendar for other tour dates. In the meantime, check out the trailer for the album.
