Silent auction at Festival of St. Cecilia a huge success

Charity silent auction at the Festival Lunch

The silent auction held at this year's Festival of Saint Cecilia Lunch last Wednesday was a huge success, raising just over £5,500.

Lunch guests at Banqueting House in Whitehall generously filled in their pledge cards to bid on five enticing lots. The first lot, which attracted considerable interest, was lunch for two with Sir Michael and Lady Parkinson at their award winning, and Michelin Starred, Royal Oak Restaurant.

The second lot offered someone the unique chance of experiencing at first hand Westminster Abbey's famous organ, with the winning bid securing a sixty minute lesson given by the Abbey's sub-organist Robert Quinney.

For the third lot, Jackie Morris kindly donated a signed print of Tower of Song, a stunning winter scene which also appears as a card in this year's Christmas Collection. This beautiful print was snapped up by a generous bidder.

The fourth lot promised someone a magical night out with a friend at the Royal Opera House to see a performance of Hansel and Gretel. One lucky bidder will have an early Christmas treat having won a pair of tickets in the orchestra stalls.

The final lot included tickets to the Fund's 90th year launch event A Date To Remember. The winning bid has secured two front row seats, as well as the opportunity to meet the artists and be photographed with them, which promises to be a night they will certainly remember.

We would like to express our gratitude to those who donated the lots and made the auction possible, as well as to everyone who very kindly pledged their support with bids and other donations.
