love music:help musicians
A circle of Gold and Platinum Partners - supporting musicians in crisis.
If you love music, you can help us to give musicians in crisis the immediate support they need when you join the circle of Gold and Platinum Partners. Your donation will make a vital contribution to developing our services and meet our duty of care to musicians in desperate need.
“For m
any of us, music is an incredibly important part of our lives whether we perform it or take part as audience members. I know that sometimes colleagues fall ill or have an accident and then need help to cope. Through ‘love music:help musicians’ those who are passionate about music can support those whose lives are devoted to making music."
Susan Bullock, soprano
“The help that the Musicians Benevolent Fund provides to
professional musicians who need it is invaluable. If you love music,
please think about those whose lives are committed to making music and
support them if you can.”
Howard Goodall, composer and TV presenter
The campaign
The Musicians Benevolent Fund has been helping musicians through times of hardship for more than 90 years.Today, the help of the Musicians Benevolent Fund is needed more than ever. In 2011, we gave crisis support to 170 professional musicians, an increase in demand of 80% compared to 2010. 50% of those we supported in 2011 were aged under 50 and 75% under 65.
To support the increasing numbers of musicians who need our help, we are aiming to raise £200,000 by 2016 through the ‘lovemusic:help musicians’ circle.
