Postgraduate Performance Awards
Following an in-depth review, we have made changes to the way these
awards are administered. Application is by nomination from the
major performing colleges and conservatoires only.
The Musicians Benevolent Fund works in close collaboration with the UK conservatoires on its Postgraduate Performance Awards. They each nominate outstandingly talented young artists at postgraduate level to be heard at audition by eminent musicians. Following audition, awards and sometimes named scholarships are offered to successful candidates to help with maintenance costs. Individual awards range from £1,000 to £5,000 and as well as this financial help, the Musicians Benevolent Fund works with its scholars to provide professional development opportunities.
The current round of awards is now open to nominations. Your college will contact you if they wish to nominate you for audition.
Auditions will take place in London between 2-13 April and provisional dates for the main disciplines are as follows:
Violin – Monday 2 April
Woodwind – Tuesday 3 April
Piano – Wednesday 4 April
Brass – Thursday 5 April
Voice – Thursday 12 April
Lower Strings – Friday 13 April
Other disciplines will be allocated audition slots on these dates once all nominations have been received.
