Women in Music

HMUK’s mission is to create a sustainable future for all musicians, across all genres and the industry. We’re driven to make a positive impact on the lives of others. We do so by listening and responding to changing needs.

HMUK believes that we’re stronger when we work together and in partnership, transforming the music industry through advocacy, campaigning, solutions and targeted investment.

HMUK announced its partnership with Women in Music (WIM) in June 2017 with the aim to build two new European chapters; Women in Music Great Britain and Women in Music Northern Ireland. In June 2018 the first of these chapters was launched in Northern Ireland.

Founded in New York in 1985, WIM now represents nearly 2000 members across seven chapters. Over the last three decades, WIM has strived to advance the awareness, equality, diversity, heritage, opportunities, and cultural aspects of women in the musical arts and industry through education, networking resources, empowerment, and recognition.

Women in Music Northern Ireland is a dedicated membership forum, which offers a platform for peer-to-peer discussion, thought leadership and networking both online and at live events with women on a global scale. This is not just about women, this about men, women, non-binary joining together to address equality in Northern Ireland and across the globe.

We are offering six months free membership to Women in Music Northern Ireland. All you have to do is sign up online at www.womeninmusic.org. Click on JOIN and use the code WIMNI to join for free.

Women in Music Northern Ireland will significantly enhance the charity’s greater vision as a leader in the industry, supporting and championing equality in music.
