EMERGING ARTISTS FUND 2016
As part of Help Musicians UK Creative Programme, a partnership was forged in 2015 with PledgeMusic UK to identify and support a diverse range of emerging artists who have the talent, a burgeoning fan base and the ‘DIY’ drive to build a long-term career.
This exclusive partnership will enable selected artists to access ‘top-up’ funding from Help Musicians UK if their PledgeMusic campaign is successful. The opportunity is for musicians across the whole of the UK in any genre with three new rounds in 2016/17.
WHO CAN APPLY?
To apply, you must be a UK-based emerging artist (individual or band) of any genre, without significant financial backing from a record label or publisher. You should be at, or approaching, a career tipping point, with a growing buzz around you, demonstrable live experience and an engaged fan base.
Your music should be distinctive, original and well crafted. You must be committed to building a long-term career. The potential for longevity of career should be evident.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Emerging Artists Fund 2016 will run from November 2016 to November 2017. Launching on Friday 4 November 2016, there will be three rounds of submission collection, artist selection and campaign launching. Eight artists will be selected each time to move forward into the Emerging Artists Fund 2016.
Emerging acts generating their own funds via PledgeMusic UK will receive a matched contribution of funds from Help Musicians UK. There will be a joint selection panel comprising representatives from PledgeMusic UK, Help Musicians UK and recognisable industry experts.
HOW TO APPLY
To apply to be part of the Emerging Artists Fund 2016, artists need to submit a short proposal setting out what the additional funding would enable them to do and why it would make a crucial difference to their plans. The panel will assess this alongside information about the applicant, their music and the viability of running a successful pledge campaign. Find out more HERE.
Artists can apply via www.emergingartistsfund.com.There are three application deadlines in 2016 and 2017.
The second round is now open, deadline 31 March
