The F List for Music x Miloco Studios

The F-List for Music x Miloco Studios

Apply now for a whole weekend of immersive studio learning for female and gender expansive musicians, provided by The F-List for Music, Help Musicians and Miloco Studios.

If you’re a female or gender expansive music creator, these limited-capacity two-day courses will give you the chance to work with experienced producers to gain a greater knowledge of a professional studio set up and confidence in articulating ideas and opinions on production within a studio setting, helping you retain creative control over your music.

The training will be delivered by an all-female team, in order to facilitate a comfortable and safe space.

Location: Battery Studio 2, London, NW10 2NB*
Dates: 8 and 9 October 2022 or 14 and 15 January 2023

*In the case of an unforeseen circumstance, Miloco Studios reserve the right to move the weekend to another of their London studios with a similar specification.

Eligibility

To apply you must be:

  • A female or gender expansive creator.
  • A professional musician with an active career creating and/or performing, or in an occupation highly technically skilled in music.
  • Available to be in London on either 8 and 9 October 2022 or 14 and 15 January 2023 (from 10am-6pm each day).

Who is leading these sessions?

The limited capacity two-day courses are led by performer and producer Isobel Anderson and Catherine Anne Davies (AKA The Anchoress) as the lead producers.

Isobel Anderson

Between her 20+ years making, performing and producing music, a PhD in Sonic Arts and a passion for creating supportive music tech education spaces for women, Isobel's career embraces a sense of independence and experimentation.

Her four solo albums have amassed over 25 million Spotify streams, her sound works have been performed on international stages and she has published in journals, such as Organised Sound and The Journal of Sonic Studies. Threaded throughout her work is a fascination with how we make sense of ourselves, the world around us and the process of creative exploration itself.

Isobel is proud to produce and host the critically acclaimed feminist music tech podcast, Girls Twiddling Knobs.

Catherine Anne Davies

From her early roots as a classically-trained flautist, to her current obsession with vintage synthesizers, multi-instrumentalist Catherine Anne Davies has spent the last six years developing her skills to become one of the most interesting up-and-coming songwriters and producers in the UK.

She was nominated for the Music Producers Guild Awards in 2022.

Her Welsh Music Prize nominated self-produced second album as The Anchoress, The Art of Losing (2021) was both critically-lauded and achieved a Top 10 position in the UK physical album charts, as well as the #1 spot on iTunes. Album of the Year plaudits came from the Sunday Times, Record Collector, Line of Best Fit, Mail on Sunday, The Sun, and Prog Magazine.
