BBC Young Musician of the Year

BBC Young Musician of the Year is a biennial competition for outstanding instrumentalists. Applicants must be British, aged 18 or under and be of at least Grade 8 standard or equivalent. The five Finalists each receive £2,000 and a Wigmore Hall recital, plus two years of YCAT representation. The Winner will also receive the title of BBC Young Musician of the Year, and a travel bursary to promote his/her musical studies. There are also two prizes for performers who do not make the final of Young Musicians but who show great potential: The Tabor Award for Promising Talent - £2000 and The Walter Todds Bursary - £1000
