Donatella Flick Conducting Competition
London Symphony Orchestra
The competition aims to help advance the careers of young conductors by providing a biennial award of £15,000 to subsidise a period of specialist study and concert engagements. In partnership with the orchestra, the winner of the competition becomes Assistant Conductor with the London Symphony Orchestra for one year. During this period, he or she will work with the orchestra and its principal and guest conductors in the preparation of concerts, participate in the LSO education programme and accompany the orchestra on tour. The competition is open to conductors between the ages of 18 and 35 who are citizens of the 28 countries having full membership of the European Union.
