Kathleen Ferrier Awards

This annual competition is open to singers of any nationality. The closing date for applications is in February. Applicants must be age 28 or under on the day of the final audition for the competition. They should also have completed one of the following: at least one year of a continuing higher education course in music at a recognised UK conservatoire or specialist music school; or at least one year of equivalent private study in the UK with a recognised vocal coach; they must also be currently  resident in the UK or Eire. The Help Musicians UK Accompanist's Prize is open to pianists who may be of any nationality but must be age 28 or under the final day of the competition and have spent three consecutive years in the UK. Only pianists whose singers get through to the semi-final and beyond can be considered. Total available prize money is £28,500: First Prize £12,500; Second Prize £6,000; a Song Prize of £5,000 for the best performance of a song in any language in the semi-final or final rounds; and an Accompanist's Prize of £5,000 provided by Help Musicians UK.
