Hello, my name is Allegra. I'm 23 years old. My musical journey began a decade ago.
Age 13, I recorded a demo. 2 years later- at 15- I acquired a manager- Mark Wood- from Radius Music. At this time, I started a 2 year Artist Development Residency at 'Phrased Differently'- the East London music publisher; mentored by my big brothers in music 'Knightstarr'. I co-wrote with London & International songwriters inc: Curtis Richardson - writer on 'Final Goodbye'- Rihanna; Grammy-Award winner Tim Fagan; & Hiten Bharadia, CEO of Phrased Differently.
Age 17, I extended to other writers & producers around London through Radius Music, XLTalent & Sony ATV, inc: Grammy-award winner Paul O'Duffy, John Fortis, Jon Green & Jim Irvin. I performed on 'The One Show', doing backing vocals for James. And was a session singer for advertisements. But, I was feeling disconnected from my sound.
Age 19, I volunteered at a Buddhist retreat centre in Ireland for 5 months to reconnect with myself and why I make music.
After that, aged 21, I moved. Across the country- from London to Lancashire. I performed on Jools Holland doing BVs for James, again. Then decided to release my first Album, my first single even! Totally indie. So I got to work composing, finding musicians and funding the album. And at 22, I recorded my first 2 master singles: 'Spectacles' & 'Excuse Me'.
'Spectacles' was released this year (2020) and so far has had 4 airs on BBC Radio Lancashire. My second single 'Excuse Me' will be released End of 2020/Beginning of 2021.
Now with many thanks to you, Help Musicians, I am able to record my next 2 singles.
Help Musicians has supported the creation of 2 Master Singles: "Could I be a Woman" and "Mysteries of Midnight". This fund will cover the costs of recording, musician fees, mixing and the necessary home-studio equipment.
I am very grateful for your support, Help Musicians. Thank you.
