Bad Nerves are a 5-piece Powerpop-RocknRoll band from Essex. The bastard child of a Ramones/Strokes one night stand, they play ferociously fast distorted pop songs, with melodies that hook so deep, even the most skilled lobotomist would struggle to scrape them out.
The band drew acclaim with their previous releases ‘Dreaming’, ‘Radio Punk’, & ‘Can’t Be Mine’ (released through UK label National Anthem), catching the attention of a host of BBC Radio 1 DJ’s including Dan P Carter, Clara Amfo, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart and Annie Mac - who made ‘Can’t Be Mine’ one of her coveted ‘New Names’ picks. Dreaming was also chosen by Dan P. Carter as his 'Rockest Record' feature on the Radio 1 rock show.
Dubbed the ‘200 miles-an-hour Supergrass’ by Gary Crowley at BBC Radio London, Bad Nerves are looking to set a new standard for adrenaline-fuelled pop-rock music.
The story starts back in 2017 when writers and self-producers Bobby Bird and Will Power set about creating a passion project with only the view to satisfy their own desires. After a summer of locking themselves away in Bobby's self built studio garage the act self-produced their first few demo's. Picking the twosome's most poignant tracks they decided to unleash demo's of 'Can't be mine' and 'Wasted Days' to the unsuspecting public via You Tube. These quickly grabbed the attention of the garage rock scene and it became clear this could no longer be confined to the four oil stained walls of Bobby's garage. In the consequent months the pair set about searching for fellow rocketeers to complete the live vision of the act that came to be know as Bad Nerves.
After initial interest from the likes of Warner, Columbia and Island Records the band have remained to the most part independent only choosing to release three official singles via small independent label National Anthem. This lead to the band being picked up by reputable agent Matt Bates at Primary talent. Since then the act have been booked to play numerous UK festivals including. Live at Leeds, The Great Escape, Reading and Leeds, Stag and Dagger, Leopallooza to name a few. The band have also started to make waves in Europe partnering with renowned bookers Mojo Concerts (NL) FKP Scorpio (DE) Super (FR). The band have played festivals and shows across Europe including Lowlands (NL) Reeperbahn festival (DE) and recently performed upon invite at Eurosonic ESNS 2020 showcasing to Europe's top bookers.
Following their 2019 Reading and Leeds festival appearance the band were featured on Radio One's special where Dan P. Carter spun the live performance of Radio Punk. Having completed recording their first self-produced album the band are chomping at the bit to release this over summer 2020.
Help Musicians have helped Bad Nerves realise our dream of releasing our debut album. Their help has given us a life line where our record contract offer fell through due to the COVID-19 crisis. The support has allowed us to properly fund the album's promotion as well as produce merchandise which we can sell to help cover some of the income lost from cancelled shows over 2020.
