I am a Northern Irish award winning & multi-nominated singer-songwriter and musician that has released four albums with over 120 million streams to date, and support for my latest album (‘Plz Stay, bb’ released June 26, 2020) from BBC Radio 1, Radio 2, BBC 6music and The Independent in the UK, Rolling Stone Magazine and Flux FM in Germany, Hot Press Magazine, The Irish Independent, and The Irish Times in Ireland.
I have also co-written and released an award-nominated and celebrated album (NI Music Prize) with Ryan Vail (Sea Legs), as well as co-writing with Irish artists Joshua Burnside, Ryan McMullan, Roe and Niamh Regan. Further afield, I have written for and with Peter Sandberg, Jarle Skavhellen, Rosie Carney, Liz Lawrence, Dan Croll, Luke Sital Singh, Axel Flovent, AVEC and Liza Anne. I was the voice of the Bushmills x Lowden Guitars collaborative campaign, and one of my tracks was recently used in the University of Ulster 'Study in Northern Ireland' campaign. I also recently wrote and recorded the music for the short film ‘Phoenix’ starring Cillian Scott (Love.Hate) which premiered at the Achtung Berlin New Berlin Film Awards. I also reimagined and recorded the trailer music for ‘The Walking Dead - Saints & Sinners’ video-game released in 2020.
My music has been nominated four times at the NI Music Prize, winning album of the year in 2016 for 'Let Bad In' and I have been recently nominated (2021) for the Hot Press Magazine ‘album of the year’ and ‘single of the year’. Previously, I have been named as the Hot Press magazine 'one to watch' (2016) and been fortunate enough to tour the UK and EU with Boy & Bear, Saint Sister, James Vincent McMorrow, William Fitzsimmons, Villagers and The Low Anthem. My music has also been featured on various playlists across Spotify & Apple Music such as; Roots Rising on Spotify (1.8 million followers) Infinite Acoustic on Spotify ((2.1 million followers) Breaking Singer Songwriter on Apple Music, New Music Daily on Apple Music.
I have also been invited to play such festivals as Glastonbury, SXSW, Spotify House @ SXSW, Luck Reunion in Texas (handpicked by Willie Nelson), Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco, Folk Alliance in Kansas City, M for Montreal, Zermatt Unplugged in Switzerland, as well as being invited to play showcases for both Disney and Lionsgate in Los Angeles, as well as performances at Paste Magazine and Spotify Fans Only in New York City. I was also invited to open for KD Lang, Neko Case and Laura Veirs for two nights at the sold out Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, Canada.
I have released music with All Points Records (formally Believe Music), Quiet Arch Records, Kartel Music Group, as well as self-releasing my debut album, which has racked up over 70 million streams alone. In 2020 I was a recipient of the PPL Momentum Music Fund.
I have yet to receive any formal teaching in music at all, so this will have such a huge impact on my knowledge, first and foremost. As I am writing & recording independently much more frequently as of late, this funding will assist in a greater quality of output, as well as increase my own confidence with self-recording. It is integral to the future of my own career moving forward and would not be possible without the support from Help Musicians.
