As a soloist Delia reached the televised Category Finals of BBC Young Musician of the Year, subsequently going on to win the Royal Northern College of Music’s prestigious Concerto and Gold Medal Competitions (the highest accolade the RNCM offers to soloists) and making her Wigmore Hall debut. Since performing the work with the RNCM Symphony Orchestra in 2014 and in the Krakow Last Night of the Proms with the Beethoven Academy Orchestra in 2016, 2019 sees Delia tour Avner Dorman’s percussion concerto “Frozen in Time” across Germany on a 5-date concert tour with the Neue Lausitzer Philharmonie.
Delia champions chamber music, particularly through innovative and unconventional ensembles; she co-founded and manages the Aurora Percussion Duo and the world music collective Kabantu, both of which won the coveted Royal Over-Seas League Competition, including a £10,000 prize and recitals at Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room and the Edinburgh Festival. Both groups have given TED-Talks and been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 including World on 3, In Tune, BBC Free Thinking Festival, BBC Proms and the Late Junction. Performance highlight
