He is generously supported by the Winifred Christie Trust and is the recipient of a Help Musicians UK Postgraduate Award.

Gus is in frequent demand as an ensemble musician. In March he was selected to play in the Manson Ensemble under the direction of Oliver Knussen, and he has represented the Academy in the prestigious Song Circle concert series in an evening of Schubert Lieder. His masterclass appearances have included those led by Pinchas Zukerman and Helmut Deutsch.

Alongside his main interests, Gus is also a solo performer and composer/arranger. In June he will be playing Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 in Bristol, and he has recently been accepted as an orchestrator for the London Musical Theatre Orchestra.
