IVW is a 7 day celebration of small music venues across the UK and well deserved celebration of the people that own, run and work in these cultural spaces. Some of the most relevant, important & historic venues around are hosting 7 nights of special live events where artists, promoters, labels and media will work with each venue to curate, play and promote live music from some of the most exciting new talent in the country.
Help Musicians is a charity aiming to support and encourage musicians at every stage of their lives and realise that grass roots venues are a huge part of that support. These independent venues allow musicians to develop their talent and engage with their fans on a personal level, a vital and treasured element of the live music scene.
As part of this new partnership Help Musicians are supporting Charlatans frontman and IVW 2017 ambassador, Tim Burgess, as he curates a series of gigs. Tim Peaks is the coffee and gigs brand that Burgess takes to festivals and Burgess will be DJing as part of his Tim Peaks IVW tour.
After our successful Launch in Norther Ireland in November, Help Musicians NI are holding 3 shows, displaying local talent across the week. With venues like Voodoo, The Playhouse and The Black Box opening their doors, both musicians and music lovers are stepping out to support these ever endangered spaces, spaces that as Ireland based band Runabay have said "are the fabric of the music community- without their presence, the industry would be a lesser place."
