My journey in the world of folk

I have been playing music and performing live since a very young age. Starting in local pubs and little music venues doing open mic nights and other various events.

Seeing this progress over the years to gaining a larger audience and being able to travel further afield has been amazing!

My music has taken me to Scotland to tour on three different occasions, I have been lucky enough to go out and do shows in Holland, Belgium and Germany, but never did I think that my music would take me out to America!

I started 2016 by attending Folk Alliance for the first time in Kansas City, and wow, what a way to start a year.

For years I had heard about Folk Alliance and what a great event it was. Gig organisers, other artists and even general public would rave about what a great experience it would be, but of course getting over to America for me was the big struggle!

When I heard the news that Help Musicians UK had decided to share their generosity and support I could not believe it.

Without organisations like Help Musicians UK a lot of opportunities and experiences would simply be out of the question for a lot of artists, so seeing the work and drive they put behind musicians in the folk/roots industry is simply amazing.
