Help Musicians UK Award at Scottish Awards for New Music

Help Musicians UK is proud to support the New Music Performer(s) Award at the first Scottish Awards for New Music. The event takes place in the Drygate Brewery, Glasgow, on Wednesday 8 March, 2017.

The Scottish Awards for New Music will celebrate and champion composers, musicians, sound artists and ensembles that are making innovative and experimental new music right now.

Created by New Music Scotland, the awards will recognise the diversity and quality of music being made by Scottish and Scottish-based new music creators and help create a wider audience for their work.

The Help Musicians award celebrates musicians who perform new music at the highest standard. This could be the best one-off performance or a number of performances that adds to a portfolio of work across 2016. The shortlisted nominees are:

Red Note Ensemble

Who we have helped

"Help Musicians UK supported our family when my husband became seriously ill. Without them we would not have been able to adapt our house to meet his needs. Now he is back home with his family where he belongs for which we will always be grateful."
