The Chiaroscuro Quartet, led by Musicians Benevolent Fund award holder Alina Ibragimova, performed a recital in aid of our work with musicians in crisis.
The Chiaroscuro Quartet (pictured right, with our Chairman The Hon Richard Lyttelton) specialise in music from the Classical period performed with historical instruments, and they delighted a packed room at the home of Bob Boas with two Mozart String Quartets.
The quartet was formed in 2005 and is comprised of (from left to right) Pablo Hernan Benedi (violin), Alina Ibragimova (violin), Emilie Hörnlund (viola) and Claire Thirion (cello).
The event was in aid of our work with professional musicians who need immediate support due to an accident or illness. The scheme love music:help musicians aims to raise £200,000 between 2012-2016.
Alina Ibragimova said "As a musician myself and someone who has received help from the Musicians Benevolent Fund as a student, I know how important the charity is to musicians."
If you'd like to receive a newsletter and invitations to concerts from the Quartet, please email Sophie Palent with your details.
Many thanks to the Chiaroscuro Quartet for giving their time, and to Bob Boas for generously hosting the recital at his home on Mansfield Street, London.
