Contributions to music recognised in New Year Honours list

Help Musicians UK is pleased to see a number of individual’s recognised within the New Year’s Honours List for their services to music.

The Honours awarded recognise the variety of contributions that can be made to musical life. David Joseph, CEO of Universal Music received a CBE and Paulette Long, PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund, received an OBE for services to the music industry.

Performers honoured included violinist Alina Ibragimova MBE and pianists Radu Lupu CBE and Malcolm Martineau OBE. Clifford Joseph Price (Goldie) received an MBE for services to children and young people.

The list also recognised the positive impact that music can have within local communities with BEMs awarded to Pete Chambers for his work with the Coventry Music Museum, Harriet Bennet for services to music and the community in Felixstow and Norman Rimmer, Director of Music for Holy Trinity church, Llandudno.
