Health and Wellbeing - See the results of our survey

Earlier this year we carried out an online survey inviting musicians to tell us about the stresses and strains of the profession. 552 musicians responded from all genres of music and at all stages in their careers.

The survey results provide us with a broad snapshot of some of the key areas affecting musicians today which we will use as the basis for more detailed research to shape new and existing services.

We asked about a whole range of issues commonly highlighted by working musicians. Find out more about what they told us and the challenges musicians face, including anti-social working hours, performance anxiety, repetitive strain injury and hearing.

For more information on the support we give to professional musicians, head over to the working & retired section of our website.

Who we have helped

“It’s challenging to take yourself to the next level without help, and being full time in music can be difficult at the beginning, especially financially. Help Musicians UK has helped us carry our vision forward, without having to limit our musical creativity.”
