We’re thrilled to announce that Help Musicians UK will be an Associate Partner for Venues Day 2016, taking place on Tuesday 18 October at the Roundhouse, London.
Since the first Venues Day event in December 2014, the event has becomes the UK’s largest gathering of grassroots venues, raising awareness of the precarious position in which the country’s small independent venues find themselves. Music Venue Trust, the charity behind the event, was created to champion and protect the nation's grassroots music, and continues to lead this work by putting together this year's networking day for highlighting and discussing key issues around two themes: Localism & Community and The Music Industry.
As an Associate Partner, we will join White Light, Jack Daniel’s, Ticketweb and UK Music to help preserve the UK’s important network of independently run grassroots music venues.
Beverley Whitrick, Music Venue Trust’s Strategic Director and Venues Day Event Producer said: “We’re delighted to be working closely with our event partners to create a really exciting Venues Day, full of practical information and opportunities to genuinely make a difference to grassroots music venues.”
HMUK Chief Executive Richard Robinson said: “We’re proud to be Associate Partner for Venues Day 2016. Our industry relies on grassroots music venues and the recent closures threaten its future. Help Musicians UK will champion the work of these venues and support the lobbying efforts to ensure local music and musicians continue to thrive.”
