With the support of our incredible fundraisers we are able to make a huge difference to the lives of many musicians. Last year alone over 200 of our fundraisers raised nearly £70,000 helping us give vital support musicians need in times of crisis, retirement or when they are just starting out.
This year our fundraisers have been working hard again and we were fortunate to attend a concert in Conway Hall to celebrate the lives of Mary and Martin Lincé. The Lincé’s shared a passion for music so their family thought it was fitting to donate the proceeds of the concert to our charity, helping us to continue to provide essential support for musicians.
Also, raising money for musicians is conductor Daniel Parkinson. For one night only, he collaborated with the Soundscape Chamber Orchestra and KSDance Ltd for an evening of music and dance at the Royal Northern College of Music. He chatted to Sean Rafferty on BBC Radio 2’s In Tune on Friday 20 February – listen from 1:40:50.
“Help Musicians UK is about supporting those who brighten up the lives of others. These musicians dedicate themselves to a life of expression, passion and emotion. It is only right that when they fall on hard times, someone is there to help. I am delighted to raise money to continue the good work that Help Musicians UK is doing across the country.” Daniel Parkinson
This was Daniel’s second fundraising concert for us. In 2013 he raised over £1,500 by conducting all five of Beethoven Piano Concerto’s in one night with pianist Martin Roscoe and presenter John Suchet.
We are so grateful to all our fundraisers including Daniel and the friends and family of Mary and Martin Lincé whose support is vital for our work and with your support we can help even more musicians in the future.
