We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Musician’s Answering Service (MAS) for raising an incredible £10,079.06 for us at their 40-year anniversary concert in October last year.
The concert was a huge success, with all of MAS’ clients in attendance and featuring a range of pieces from symphony music to film scores, all conducted by Barry Wordsworth. While tickets were free, attendees were encouraged to donate on the day via MAS’ JustGiving page, with all money raised going to Help Musicians UK (HMUK).
On Wednesday 4 April, we invited MAS to our offices in Kings Cross for a cheque presentation and celebration, to officially thank them for such a significant contribution to the charity.
Tania Davidson, Managing Director of the MAS, said:
“We are thrilled that our concert celebrating the company’s 40th anniversary was such a success and that we were able to raise over £10,000 for Help Musicians UK. The concert lived up to its promise of being a unique event that brought together over 100 of our clients from the orchestral, session and West End worlds, celebrating many of the areas of classical music they are involved in. We would like to thank everyone who helped organise the event, our sponsors and all the performers for generously donating their time to help us achieve this.
“Working so closely with musicians on a daily basis means that we see what a difference the assistance HMUK offers makes in their lives. We are proud to be able to support this work as part of our celebrations as it is a wonderful way of saying thank you to all the musicians who have supported us over the past 40 years.”
Belinda Dee, Director of Fundraising at Help Musicians UK said:
“The Musician’s Answering Service is a fantastic organisation, providing an excellent service for professional orchestral and session musicians. We are delighted to benefit from their generosity with a substantial donation that will enable us to support even more musicians in 2018. Thank you to everyone at MAS and all their clients, friends and families who supported the anniversary concert and raised such a significant sum.”
