On board again for Brownwood’s Future Bubblers

Last year we got behind Brownswood’s Future Bubblers talent discovery scheme, led by Gilles Peterson, which saw a selection of emerging artists benefit from one-to-one support and mentoring.

We are happy to announce our continued involvement as Future Bubblers is launched for a second phase. Applications will open in July, close in August, and are invited from anyone in England.

Success from the first 'Bubblers' include Yazmin Lacey who will master her debut EP and produce a run of vinyl. Thru Colours is set to purchase an audio interface and Revenu is on track to purchase synthesisers which they will use to improve creative practice as well as live shows.

The scheme speaks to the creativity, enterprise and vibrancy of music scenes bubbling under the surface of towns across the country, with this year’s focus on Sheffield and Hull.  Ten top talents, from songwriters to producers, rappers to scratchers, will be chosen and paired with mentors selected for their needs, whether that’s help with their live shows, networking/business nous, or pushing their bounds musically.

Additional partners joining us for round two include The Warren, Soundsystem Records, The Sesh, The Plug, The Inherited Shop and PRSF.

Creative Programme Director, Claire Gevaux says: “We wanted to continue our work with Brownswood through the Future Bubblers programme as we shared values of developing talent and giving opportunities to more musicians across the UK who could benefit from our support. Our congratulations to all the Year One Future Bubblers for their incredible achievements and hard work.”

Gilles Peterson, DJ and Brownswood Recordings founder said: “The first year of Future Bubblers was a really exciting experience; uncovering so much potential and amazing music across the country. We’re looking forward to building on this for year two and seeing how the project and potential can continue to grow.”
