Our Chief Executive, David Sulkin, was awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours list in celebration of his services to Arts, Education and Charity.

David came to the Musicians Benevolent Fund almost five years ago to the day on 12 January 2009 and his OBE accompanies us as we take the exciting step to becoming Help Musicians UK on 13 January.

David has had a varied and prolific career in theatre and education, becoming Director of the The Royal Court Theatre in 1980. He went on to hold senior positions at English National Opera and Youth Music before joining us in 2009.

Also celebrated in the 2014 New Year Honours list was our President, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, who was made a Companion of Honour for outstanding achievements in music.

With such a fantastic start to the year, we hope you join us in congratulating David and continue to support us as we make the exciting step to becoming Help Musicians UK on Monday 13 January.
