Support available for musicians to develop their careers and continue creating music in challenging landscape

While the summer festival season is uncertain and the roadmap back to live music is unclear, Help Musicians wants to ensure music creators are still able to access opportunities to continue to develop their musical portfolio, build skills and sustain their careers 

From today, musicians can apply for support to embark on a music project with the Do it Differently Fund, and from March 15, music creators can apply for support to develop as creators and sustain their careers with the Transmission Fund. 

More about the two different types of support on offer: 

Support to Create Music - Applications open February 15th  

Being a musician takes the careful balancing of creative output, business skills and personal wellbeing, which is why the Do It Differently Fund offers support across each of these areas, helping musicians to achieve their creative and career potentialTaking applications until March 15th, we support the creation of music by offering grants of £3,000 to fulfil a music project (such as writing, recording and marketing a new LP) as well as 1-1 business guidance with some of the UK music industry’s leading experts, ensuring musicians feel confident in their business plans and are able to sustain their careers beyond the duration of their project.

Support to Develop Careers - Applications open March 15th 

Accepting applications until April 12thHelp Musicians’ training and development opportunity, Transmission Fund, exists to support music creators to take advantage of short periods of upskilling. That might mean an online course to build new skillsattendance to a digital conference to learn more about the industry, an online songwriting retreat or perhaps a chance to learn how to use music software like Logic ProWe support the development of careers by offering grants of up to £1,500 to take knowledge and skills to the next level.
