Some of the Help Musicians UK community may recognise guitarist and singer songwriter Matt Deighton’s photo from our website and advertising campaigns. We helped Matt back in 2014 when he was recovering from a heart attack, and suffering from Bipolar Disorder. We’re all delighted to hear that after releasing Electric Blend last year as part of the Family Silver with former Style Council and Weller band drummer Steve White and Ocean Colour Scene/Weller/current Richard Ashcroft bassist Damon Minchella, Matt Deighton is currently running a new PledgeMusic campaign.
Having finally located the lost tapes, Matt is releasing an album written with Squeeze legend Chris Difford at Heliocentric studios in 2003. Entitled ‘Kids Steal Feelings’, the record features Ash Soan on drums and Matt’s fellow Mother Earth stalwart Neil Corcoran on bass; and the album was produced by former Ryan Adams, Alanis Morisette and Tom Petty keys player Richard Causon. With Chris Difford having put the lyrics to Matt’s songs, Matt will be teaming up again with world-renowned mastering engineer John Dent and taking the album straight to vinyl acetate from the original studio tape, just like the good old days. The album is then being released on new bespoke artist-friendly label, Monk’s Road.
Matt said: "I need your support in reaching the all important goal and in return will be offering what I think is a fine album that has simply been fermenting quietly in the background until now."
It’s wonderful to hear when an artist who has received help from us gets back to doing what they were put on earth to do. We’re wishing Matt all the best for a successful Pledge campaign, and can’t wait to hear the record!
Help him reach his target and donate to his PledgeMusic campaign.
