The ABO Conference 2014

The ABO, or Association of British Orchestras, holds its annual conference tomorrow and we’re proud to be a part of it.

For three days, orchestras and musical organisation from around the UK come together to share their secrets and expertise on making music. This year’s Conference focuses on new directions – new ways to find funding and build audiences and one of the hot topics this year is musicians’ wellbeing.

Our Chief Executive David Sulkin OBE will be speaking on Thursday alongside representatives from the Musicians Union, the Royal Northern College of Music, the Royal College of Music and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance to share our ideas and advice on keeping our musicians going through healthy performance practises.

At the end of the day, we’ll be hosting a drinks reception following a performance by the London Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Sir Antonio Pappano. It’s a great setting for us to spread the word of Help Musicians UK and to be around to answer any questions. If you’re at the conference, come and say hello!
