The Queen, Help Musicians’ Patron, marks the charity’s centenary year

In a letter, she says: “send my best wishes to all those associated with Help Musicians for a memorable and successful year marking this notable anniversary.”

In our centenary year and following the most challenging 18 months for musicians, we were delighted to receive a letter of well wishes from our Patron, The Queen, marking the charity’s landmark anniversary.

In it, she remarks on Help Musicians’ support during the pandemic, now amounting to over £17m in financial hardship relief for over 21,000 musicians across the UK.

As live music slowly returns, we will work to ensure musicians can rebuild their careers safely and continue to share the music we all love so much. This year, we have already made much of our financial support for creative output available all year around and expanded our mental health provision to help musicians return to more regular work.

We are very grateful to receive this support from our Patron on our 100th birthday, a year in which we strive to rebalance the careers of the UK’s brilliant musicians.
