We are Help Musicians UK

Today we have become Help Musicians UK. Formerly the Musicians Benevolent Fund, we have adopted a new name and a fresh identity to help us reach out to more musicians across the UK.

Our mission remains the same as ever. We’re completely dedicated to helping musicians of all genres throughout their professional lives. Our work continues to be driven by a love of music in all its forms, and a close understanding of the pressures that professional musicians face.

Since 1921 we’ve been a vital lifeline for thousands of people in times of crisis, but also in times of opportunity. We help promising young artists to improve their skills and get started in a career. We help existing professional musicians who hit a crisis in their lives, such as accident or illness. And we help musicians in retirement and those needing special help as they grow older.

Our work makes a huge difference to more than 2,000 musicians every year. Hear some of their stories.

If you need help or know of someone who does, get in touch and spread the word. Most importantly, if you love music and want to help the people who make it, please support our work. Help us help musicians.

Who we have helped

“It’s challenging to take yourself to the next level without help, and being full time in music can be difficult at the beginning, especially financially. Help Musicians UK has helped us carry our vision forward, without having to limit our musical creativity.”
