This Saturday our friends at BAPAM host their Insights Day, a series of workshops and talks for musicians that will not only inspire but champion healthy performance practice.
The day provides a fantastic opportunity to build upon the skills needed to sustain a physically and psychologically demanding career in the performing arts.
The day of talks and workshops focuses on game changing knowledge and skills with leading experts in the field including Counsellor Giovanna Reitano, Physiotherapist Drusilla Redman, Vocal Coach Jenovora Williams and many more.
Ahead of the weekend, BAPAM’s Information Officer, Dan Hayhurst, says: “We’re looking forward to this chance to share expertise that we and our practitioners have developed through our work with performers. Many of the problems we see in our clinics are preventable, and giving advice on how to avoid or recover from injury is a key part of our mission.
There’s a lot of crossover between the skills that help you stay healthy and those that enable you to perform at your best so it’s great to be working with such knowledgeable performance teachers. We hope to enable a discussion about problems which are common in the performing arts community but often remain hidden due to lack of awareness, isolation or anxiety.”
