Head of Finance

Salary: Circa £65,000FTE (35hrs) per annum (dependent on candidate experience) – pro rata to part-time hours agreed, plus 10% pension, health care cash plan and a range of other great benefits including hybrid-working
Reporting to: Director of Finance
Location: London WC1X. Hybrid-working offered with a minimum requirement of 2 days in the London office (subject to working pattern), with flexibility to attend the office more regularly as the needs of the role dictate.
Contract and hours: Permanent contract – Part-time (3 days/21hrs or 4 days/28hrs per week).

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team based in London to lead our finance function as Head of Finance. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will lead in the development and delivery of Help Musicians’ and Music Minds Matter financial strategy, planning, controls, reporting, and systems.
A key member of Help Musicians’ leadership team, you will have responsibility for ensuring the charities’ have a robust financial strategy in place which supports the charities’ business plan goals, you will provide leadership and technical expertise that will enable and motivate your team to deliver on their objectives and represent the finance function effectively at all levels and across multiple workstreams.
About you
You will be able to demonstrate your experience in leading a busy finance function and as a strong people manager. You will be a confident leader, who can communicate effectively and adapt your style to suit your audience, supporting colleagues’ understanding of how the finance function can support them to achieve charities goals. You should be able to influence key stakeholders and motivate your team to deliver impactful results.
Your experience will include time spent working in a small/medium-sized organisation with a good understanding of relevant VAT rules. You will ideally have experience with setting financial strategy and charity finance experience is desirable.
