We are here for musicians right up until the end of life. For those facing terminal illness we do everything we can to support them in their final days, as well as helping families and carers at such a difficult time. Our response is tailored to every individual case, but can include:
- Arrangements to make the musician’s last days more comfortable
- Helping the musician to resolve a financial or other problem that is causing them distress or which they do not want to leave as a problem for their loved ones
- Helping with a particular thing they want to do before they die – such as visiting a relative, making a final recording, or making a special journey.
When a musician dies, we can, on occasion, offer help with funeral and related costs, such as bereavement counselling for the surviving partner, or sorting out the musician’s affairs.
If a musician was receiving regular help from us before s/he died, we will continue to support the surviving partner through the difficult months afterwards and review the support we offer after three to six months have passed.
