In this session Stephen Budd will answer questions around music management, his life in music, and the current landscape of the industry.

Stephen Budd is a British music executive and artist manager based in London. He is the founder of Stephen Budd Music Ltd and Record​-pro​du​cers​.com, where he has represented many highly successful recording artists and Grammy-winning record producers. He is also a co-founder and former chairman of the Music Managers Forum, the trade body for artist managers.

He is a director of OneFest, of Damon Albarn’s Africa Express project, and the upcoming SoulJazzCTY Festival in London, set for 2027. He also co-founded the NH7 Weekender festivals in India and helped create the DMZ Peace Train Festival in Korea.

Stephen created a variety of charity projects including War Child’s annual Passport Back to the Bars” concerts, now called BRITs Week.” He also co-produced the global concert series Give a Home” with Amnesty International and Sofar Sounds, which supports refugees. In 2022, he ran The Music Venue Trust’s Passport Back to Our Roots” concert series to raise money for live music venues endangered by the Covid-19 pandemic.

He is a recognised TV commentator on music industry issues, regularly appearing on BBC and on a variety of British TV news shows.

Stephen is an avid vinyl collector and actively DJs 1970s African music on Word​Wide​.FM radio as well as at festivals and clubs worldwide.
