Vocal legend Ruby Turner joins Chris Difford on I Never Thought it Would Happen Podcast

In Chris’ company, Ruby reveals that seeing the Jackson 5 live was a pivotal moment in her life, as was a live performance by Joan Armatrading; she also goes on to tell us an amazing story about how her father came to know Johnny Cash. Ruby began her musical odyssey working first with Culture Club, before she embarked on a solo career. Now 20 albums deep, she’s worked with the likes of Bryan Ferry, UB40, Mick Jagger and has been a long time regular in Jools Holland’s band. 

The episode also features Dyskinetic, an artist who was supported by Help Musicians to receive mentoring and skills development support to further their career.

Ruby follows last week’s guest Robbie Williams, who opened up about his career, his mental health struggles and the impact of his late manager David Enthoven, with future guests set to include, Tom Odell, Yungblud, and KT Tunstall.
