Adam Wood graduated from the Royal College of Music in 2019 and is now studying an MA at the Royal Academy of Music under tuition from Mark David, Will O’Sullivan, Gareth Small and Paul Beniston. His studies are supported by a Help Musicians UK Award and a Munster Trust Award. Adam has received training through schemes with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, English National Opera and London Sinfonietta. Outside of his orchestral playing, he is an avid chamber musician, regularly performing with his quintet Canon Brass, as well as playing natural trumpet with baroque ensembles around the country. This year, Adam gained a place on the Philharmonia MMSF Fellowship Programme for 2019/2020 and won a Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe award.
Help Musicians' support has allowed me to continue to progress towards my goal of being a professional trumpeter Without their help I would not be able to focus solely on my studies and music-making outside of the Academy. I am incredibly grateful for their generosity.
