Barnaby is a freelance vocalist, composer and a recent Music graduate of St Peter’s College, Oxford. While studying, he began learning with esteemed vocalist Anita Wardell and directed various jazz projects, including Sweet Shop, Dot’s Funk Odyssey and internationally-acclaimed jazz vocal group, The Oxford Gargoyles. His studies culminated in a vocal recital in which he explored the vocalise tradition, for which he received a first-class mark.

Since graduating, Barnaby has been increasingly involved with cross-discipline projects, such as ‘Notes on Painting’ with the artist Amelia Bowles, and other more solo ventures across London and the UK. Barnaby is looking forward to starting the MA jazz course at Guildhall School of Music and Drama this September and delighted to be supported by Help Musicians UK.
