Cole Bendall is a Scottish conductor specialising in contemporary choral music. Founder and director of the Reid Consort, Cole has led Scottish first performances of works by Thomas LaVoy, Veljo Tormis, Chris Hutchings and more alongside major choral orchestral projects.

Cole has worked with Sonoro Choir (London), Berlin Radio Choir and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra Chorus assisting Gregory Batsleer in a lauded semi-staged performance of Parry’s Songs of Farewell. He regularly works with choral societies, orchestras and liturgical choirs across the UK. In 2018, he participated in the Gheorges Dima International Choral Conducting Competition, Romania.

An advocate for music education, Cole has run choral music workshops with young singers across central Scotland and has worked on education projects with SOUND new music festival in Aberdeenshire and with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He is a Tutor in Music at the University of Edinburgh Centre for Open Learning where he is completing his PhD on the choral music of the Estonian composer, Veljo Tormis.
