Gail studies music at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Her main instrument is the flute, and she also plays piano and saxophone. Her key musical interests are wide-ranging and include bossa nova, funk, jazz/hip hop crossover and prog rock. Her musical influences include Hermeto Pascoal, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, and Alice Coltrane. She also writes music articles for online publications, focussing on jazz and jazz fusion genres. Before this, she earned a First-class honours at King's College London in Liberal Arts, with a Music major.

In the future she hopes to explore further the electronic possibilities on flute using microphones and pedals.
