Dreamy grunge-pop fermented with the knotty impatience and potent neuroticism of songwriter Siân Alex, North London outfit Gold Baby serve an own-brand concoction of confessional indie-pop.
Packaging cryptic lyricism and delicately fractured guitar parts with surges of power-pop and feedback, Gold Baby consists of Siân Alex on guitar and vocals, Sara Kleppe on bass and Scott Hislop on drums.
Following a consistent stream of self-released singles since their inception in 2018, this year has seen Gold Baby named as 'Ones To Watch' for 2020, championed on BBC Radio 6 by Tom Robinson, and headlining a sold out launch show at The Waiting Room (N16) for their most recent single Japanese Racehorse.
Help Musicians will be supporting the creation and promotion of Gold Baby's upcoming EP 'Rabbits'. The band were initially due to record their debut EP the week that lockdown restrictions were enforced and so the project was put on hold indefinitely.
The HelpMusicians funding will allow the band to adapt the project to the current climate and extend the EP and it's PR campaign to maximise it's potential in moving the band towards a self-sustainable future.
