Jack Yardley is a freelance drummer and percussionist based in London. He graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2014 with a BA in Jazz. In 2015 he gained a scholarship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has subsequently studied under the stewardship of London players such as Edgar Jones, Trevor Tomkins, Martin France and Malcom Edmonstone to name but a few.

This year he has played in a wide range of venues and festivals across the country including The Vortex, The Barbican and Hogsozzle Festival. Since the turn of the year he currently co- leads his new progressive groove based band ‘merv ’ which include Matt Gedrych and Benedict Wood.

Jack is really delighted to receive the Help Musicians UK Postgraduate Award 2016. He hopes this will be the Launchpad for his future musical endeavours.
