Mared is first-language Welsh and from a small village called Llannefydd situated on the hills of North Wales. She completed her BA in Music at the University of Leeds, having embarked on an array of genres including fronting Leeds University Big Band, collaborating with electronic duo Denton Thrift and gigging with African blues and rock band, Sifaka. Amongst these projects she enjoys gigging as a singer-songwriter around the city and in many Welsh festivals, recently making her solo debut in London having released her first EP in November 2017. From performing in university productions of Ghost, Joseph and Merrily We Roll Along, to winning the title of International Voice of Musical Theatre twice at Llangollen Eisteddfod in 2018 and 2016, Mared's passion lies in moving an audience. This summer she will be sharing the stage with renowned bass-baritone Bryn Terfel in an original new musical exploring the life of Paul Robeson at the Welsh National Eisteddfod in Cardiff, before commencing her Masters in Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music in September.
