Matt Parkinson is a drummer, percussionist and composer based in London. After completing his undergraduate degree at Leeds College of Music where he studied with Dave Walsh and Jesse Bannister, he was recently accepted onto the masters programme at the Royal Academy of Music where he has begun studying with Martin France, Barak Schmool and Pete Churchill.

He regularly performs around the country in a variety of different settings and has been fortunate enough to perform alongside Mike Walker, Iain Dixon and Duncan Lamont as well many others. He leads his own groups and composes music that is broadly influenced by Jazz, Funk, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Folk and Electronic music.

Matt is very grateful to have been awarded a Help Musicians UK Postgraduate Award for 2015 as well as receiving support from The Ruby & Will George Trust and The Michael Hurd Memorial Foundation.
