Rachel Walker is an Edinburgh-based fiddle player who discovered the violin and her passion for traditional music at the age of 21. Now, at 30, she plays full time and is still possessed by that same drive that drew her in 9 years ago. Being a core part of the original folk quartet 'Dowally', she has grown in her playing and, in tandem with guitar player Dan Abrahams, has created fresh new music for the band. They have gone onto tour the UK, produce an album, play a sold-out Festival Fringe show and be part of Edinburgh 'Tradfest 2016'. Rachel will use her bursary for lessons with the award-winning fiddle player Rona Wilkie, to hone her technique and traditional repertoire.
