Glaswegian independent music artist, songwriter, vocalist and piano player Rosie Bans writes intelligent multi-genre pop music which has gained national support from press including features in The Musician Magazine (“melodic and finely observed songs”), Louder Than War (“powerful songs full of emotion”) and London based blog Gigslutz (“passionate and unique”) .

With tracks play listed on local Scottish and National UK radio stations including Amazing Radio, Connect Radio, CamGlen and Celtic Music Radio, Rosie’s music pulls out what’s living just under the skin and drapes it over memorable choruses and rhythmic piano grooves for all to hear. Never lacking emotion, Rosie’s lyrics can often hide hard-hitting story lines.

In 2017, Scottish newspaper The National featured Rosie’s debut album “Identify Yourself”, funded by Creative Scotland, in their weekly music article using the phrase “an empowering figure for many” to describe the artist.

With over ten UK and European self organised tours under her belt and multiple support slots for both UK and international artists, most notable Pete Docherty at Nambucca music venue in London, Rosie is a popular writer passionate about having a positive influence on the world through music and art, committed to opening up conversations around mental health and equality through her songwriting.

With a drive to be involved in organisations paving the way for change in music Rosie also joined the Scottish charity Scottish Women Inventing Music where she currently holds the role of Team Leader for the Activism and Advocacy group.

With the support received from Help Musicians, I will now be able to access career mentoring and personal development coaching for the rest of 2020 to push my music career to that next level.
