Working Musicians Wellbeing Service
Support for working musicians experiencing physical health issues or financial challenges
The life of a musician can be incredible, but it can take its toll, and there are inevitably difficult times. Our wellbeing service can help you both with physical health and financial challenges.
Physical wellbeing
Illness and injury not only impact your ability to earn a living, but long-term they can impact your ability to sustain your career. We know that musicians face higher wellbeing risks than people in many other professions, and often delay seeking help due to cost, time pressures and the ongoing demands of performing.
We offer advice, information and guidance to help you maintain your physical wellbeing. We can also refer you to specialist services and organisations when needed. We can arrange health assessments, and in some cases provide grants for medical procedures and other costs associated with adapting to new health conditions.
Financial wellbeing
This is an equally pressing issue for many musicians, with life in music often involving precarious work or unpredictable income.
We can provide information, advice and guidance on how to navigate financial challenges, as well as support managing benefits and debt issues. In certain cases, we can also provide cost-of-living grants if you are unable to work due to illness or injury.
