Leave a Gift in your Will

Gifts in wills

Let the music play on with a gift in your Will

“People need music. So, we have to look after it and we have to look after its future; this is where Help Musicians comes in.” - Sir Simon Rattle OM CBE | Conductor & Help Musicians Ambassador

Leaving a gift in your Will to Help Musicians is a wonderful way to ensure your passion for music supports future generations of musicians. Without the generous gifts left in Wills, our work simply wouldn’t be possible.

These gifts make an enormous contribution to Help Musicians and our long-term sustainability as a charity. Our legacies fund also meant that we were able to respond as quickly and decisively as we did when the pandemic hit in 2020.

Our 100% Pledge to Donors

Due to the legacy gifts from supporters over the past 100 years of Help Musicians’ existence, means that every penny of donations received today can go directly to our frontline work with musicians.

If music has inspired you and enriched your life, please leave a gift in your Will to let the music you love play on.

Why Help Musicians?

We want to see a world in which every musician can reach their full potential without being held back by financial or personal difficulties.

Since 1921, we’ve helped thousands of musicians establish themselves in the music business, get through a serious crisis, cope with long term difficulties and enjoy retirement. As well as providing advice and guidance, we give financial and emotional support. For many, we are a lifeline.

Music enriches all our lives. Leaving a gift in your will help support musicians and continue to let the music play on.

Love Music: Help Musicians

Peter Whittingham LegacyPeter Whittingham's Legacy

Peter Whittingham was an expert in survival medicine and also a pianist who loved the music of Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Sondheim, Bernstein and Oscar Peterson. After his death in 1987 his family set up the Peter Whittingham jazz award from his estate in his memory.

The Jazz award has become one of the most prestigious awards in the UK, supporting artists such as Scott Stroman, Dave O’Higgins, Soweto Kinch, Empirical and Mercury Prize nominees Led Bib, and Roller Trio.

How to leave a gift to Help Musicians in your will

A gift in your will is a personal decision that you will want to discuss with friends and family.

If you would like more information, please contact [email protected] or call Bridget on 020 7239 9142.

All gifts are important to us regardless of size, and allow us to help someone who really needs our support.

Please pledge today to help ensure we are there for future generations of musicians.

Leave a Gift of Royalties

If you receive royalties or copyright payments you can gift these to Help Musicians in your will. By leaving your royalties as a legacy you are giving us a gift that could last for 70 years and making a real investment in the future of music. As a legacy, royalty payments given to us will be exempt from Inheritance Tax.

To leave your royalties to Help Musicians we suggest you contact your royalty company and speak to a solicitor about amending your will.

“If you love and care about the musical life of the UK, please support Help Musicians.” - Sir Simon Rattle CBE | Conductor & Help Musicians Ambassador
